Session: 4-E Bay Area Jan 2009
Convener: Susan London

Notes:
Leadership today is different than it used to be - it is more "us" than "me," more individualized and focused on unique contributions. Women are primed for this sort of leadership.
(this session became more of a group conversation, covering everything from personal strengths to the male-dominated work force, and how we want to change it.)
- We want to be leaders and mentors without having to feel like we've joined "the boys club"
- Today's business protocols are not necessarily how we want to do business - we want to extend compassion and empathy into our business relationships
- Women need to support each other in creating empowered, powerful spaces, and to make that ideology widespread and common in the workplace
- We don't want to lead dominantly, we want to lead by example, and through inspiration using the following traits:
- Confidence
- Empathy
- Compassion
- Loyalty to oneself
- Belief that anything is possible
- Empowerment (self and to others)
- Capacity to forgive (self and others)
As women in leadership roles, we don't want to "Play the game," we want to change the game.
