Title: Communication and Support for Women Orgs

Notes:

Attendees discussed a new to create a tunnel between groups. We each have our niche and we should be able to find each other and help each other in various ways.

Suggestion was made to get leaders from the organizations together for leadership training and networking.

Anita Borg Institute is considering getting a mailing list for the leaders of the various organizations as way for us to communicate and learn from each other.

A variety of things came up from managing volunteer dropout or burnout to funding for the organizations including the possibility of there being an umbrella organization which provides fiscal sponsorships for smaller groups who want to be non-profits.

Additionally, smaller organizations co-sponsoring events with other organizations or piggy backing on events for bigger organizations as a way to help with the funding, etc

Ambassador program with ABI (Anita Borg Institute) was also brought up and it was stated that maybe organizations which are not part of corporation created groups could also be involved.

Action Items:

• Compile a list of groups and their leaders.
• Contribute to geekfeminism.org
• Create mailing list for leaders of the groups.
